A series of original artworks created as an impulsive response to contemporary music.
Sono-Subjective is a series of one-off artworks that are created as emotional responses to contemporary music. Each painting is created as a result of intuitive decisions that emerge through an intensive active listening process that takes place before each canvas is created.
Each selected music track is represented on canvas through two key visual elements: the melodic and tonal aspects of the piece are represented through the use of colour with the application oil paint, and the timing and rhythmic elements of the music are represented through the use of linework and geometry, with the use of black or white embroidery thread.
The first paintings in this series were created in 2017 and Sono-Subjective remains open for commissions on request.
