Absolve You of CommitmentLeigh Davies
00:00 / 03:10

I’ve always loved the rain, even when I was little - sitting in my grandmother’s conservatory listening to it coming down. Tracing the lines forming like motorways as the drops merged together on the glass. Now… you’ll expect me to say I love the rain for how it helps the land to grow and for how it cleanses etc, but I love the rain for how simply it can absolve you of commitment.

“Oh I can’t mow the lawn today, it’s raining.”

“Let’s not go out today, look at the weather.”

The rain stops life in its tracks. Life gets paused in the rain and I love that. In fact, I’m saying this whilst a big storm rages, and already I’m thinking of all the things I won’t have to do now.
